One of the Pearls of Budapest – Featured in Many Postcards:
Hilton Budapest
The Hilton, an organic part of the historic Buda Castle Quarter,
is inseparable from Budapest’s panoramic World-Heritage-listed
riverbank.
The six-storey building has a modern facade looking over the River
Danube and a neo-classic facade on the side facing the street.
There is much architecture in the direct vicinity of the hotel
that illustrates the rich history of the Hungarian capital. For
instance the Mathias Church, the coronation church built in gothic
style, and the Fishermen’s Bastion, which offers a panoramic
view over the city, including impressive staircases and walkways.
There are breathtaking views from the hotel rooms onto the bustling
Pest side, as well as the romantic castle quarter and some of the
most attractive bridges over the River Danube.
The hotel’s fully equipped and modernised 322 rooms and
suites are ideal for both work and relaxation. Every room is air-conditioned,
has two direct telephone lines, provides tea and coffee-makers,
bathrobes, a radio, a colour television and Wi-Fi Internet connection.
Rooms marked as Hilton Guest Room Plus have the most magnificent
views, while Hilton Executive and Executive Plus rooms come with
larger bathrooms, with both a shower stall and a bathtub. Tenants
on the Executive floor also have access to the Club Bar for continental
buffet breakfast, snacks and drinks free of charge and are provided
with a wide selection of international newspapers and magazines.
The hotel, which has 21 events rooms designed for various occasions,
has been host to many successful international and Hungarian conferences.
The largest of these is the Conference and Ballroom designed in
classic English style, with a capacity of 660 people. The furnishings
and seats in the rooms can be changed to best fit the type of the
event held and individual demands. The hotel offers state-of-the-art
technical facilities and skilled and experienced staff to secure
the success of any event.
The Dominican Restaurant welcomes guests with quiet piano music
and a pleasant atmosphere enhanced by soft colours. The kitchen
offers both international and typical Hungarian dishes.
For a short description of some of the restaurant’s specialities,
please see the section on gastronomy.
The extensive buffet breakfast prepared in line with Hilton’ standards
is served in the Corvina Restaurant. Lunches are also served in
buffet style, while dinners are available a la carte.
A special feature of the building is the 13th century Dominican
ambulatory and cloister that have been incorporated in the current
modern structure of Hilton Budapest. The former church’s
nave is today used for theatre, dance, jazz and opera performances
during the Budapest summer festival.
The hotel’s own indoor car-park means there is complete
peace of mind and comfort for guests. The cultural and commercial
quarters of downtown Budapest are in easy reach by car and by public
transport. (A special means of transport is the cable-car railway,
which is a practical and romantic way to connect the Castle Quarters
including the royal palace with Adam Clark Square.)
The five-star modern Hilton Budapest is a flagship hotel of the
Danubius Group which has a franchise and management contract with
Hilton International.
