Aquaparks Splash into Adventure!

Pistyan Patina mit 5 Sternen

Hungary is in the heart of the Central European region that is famous for spa holidays. Now many spas have added adventure pools and water parks to their facilities. Right now these compare more than well with any in Western Europe and facilities here are fine examples of creativity and hospitality.
Many city spas and lidos in Hungary are using their natural thermal waters to develop adventure pool sections. Across the country you will find many towns and villages have built their own aquaparks from scratch.
With so many places to recommend, all we can give here is a selection of the best in Hungary and the region. Perfect choices for memorable family outings, they are guaranteed to stay in your mind during the long winter months!

Mogyoród near Budapest - Aquaréna
This is the largest and most modern adventure facility in Hungary, with a capacity of 8,000 people, which includes eight pools, 26 slides, relaxation areas and all the services that guarantee fun for the entire family throughout the day. The entrance price is all-inclusive, enabling visitors to use all the slides, toys, special equipment and participate in animated activities. A pool with water temperature of 30° C is reserved for small children, equipped with a rainbow slide, a bending slide, a penguin and clown spraying water and a water-zoo with a rabbit, elephant, snake and octopus.

Balatonfüred  - Annagora Aquapark
As modern as modern as modern can be, this is for all visitors who want to enjoy a full range of water toys and equipment. Visiting Annagora is a real experience for the entire family! Open throughout the year, offering a fun selection of leisure activities. Laid out on an area of 8 square km, fully equipped with multi-function technology, programmable and adjustable to the standards of the best of Western European aquaparks.
A paradise for adults and children. The huge children-activity area (with a wave pool no less!) is in the central part of the aquapark, guaranteeing all children a fun day.
While very popular with Lake Balaton’s visitors, Annagora has been designed to be environment friendly.

Esztergom  - Aqua Island
Built near the newly reconstructed Mária Valéria Bridge on the River Danube, services are divided into three sections: adventure, wellness and therapeutic.
Of the nine pools, two can be accessed through slides, two pools are reserved for children, there is a wave pool, two thermal pools and a sport pool. A wide range of facilities are available in the pools and around the park, including water beds, jet-skis, geysers, caves and a water-world for children.

Zalaegerszeg  - Aquacity
Acquacity is sited in picturesque surroundings on the shore of Lake Gébárti near Zalaegerszeg and is easily accessed from the city by public transport or by car. Spread over no less than 7.5 hectares, Aquacity has pools filled with a total of 5.6 million litres of water and with a total water surface of 6,000 m˛. The park is equipped with 13 large slides, 5 smaller slides and 12 pools including a slow stream pool, children’s pool, wave pool and Jacuzzi. Aquacity is open all year round.

Aquaparks Outside Hungary

Slovakia

Poprad – AquaCity
One of the best known aquaparks in Central Europe. Thanks to its wide range of pools, slides and other attractions, AquaCity provides relaxation and fun regardless of the weather. The entire family can spend a perfect day here relaxing or enjoying the activities on offer.
Equally popular are the Sapphire Pool and the Blue Pool. The mineral contents of the water, their therapeutic and geothermic effects are identical, yet somehow the atmosphere in the two pools is completely different!
Oscar the beaver is the latest and most entertaining development in AquaCity. Oscar is soft and flexible inside, perfect for jumping from and frolicking around.

Liptovský Mikuláš: Aquapark Tatralandia
The first Aquapark in Slovakia to be open all through the year, it is on the northern side of the Liptovská Mara barrage, a few kilometres from the Jasná Nízke Tatry ski station.
The thermal waters of Tatralandia are between 26 °C and 38 °C, which means the park stays open during the winter months.
Apart from the traditional thermal-water pools, there are 18 toboggans, slides and 9 pools for visitors to enjoy—making Tatralandia the largest aquapark in Slovakia, with no match even in the Czech Republic. Extra activities are offered during the summer months when various water stunts, performances and shows are staged in the amphitheatre, a special kids’ corner is set up with a playground and adrenaline shows are presented.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Liberec – Aquapark
This is the largest indoor aquapark in the Czech Republic, open to visitors all year round, with toboggans, pools, slides and geysers. There is an adrenaline pool for daring visitors and seawater aquariums with exotic plants to enhance the atmosphere. Water temperature in the pools is around 30 °C, a guarantee of cheerful relaxation. Guests at the leisure centre can also visit a traditional fun park, a zoo and even a casino.

ROMANIA
Oradea – Aquapark
Construction of an aquapark will soon commence here, modelled on a similar development in Hajdúszoboszló in Hungary though much larger and better equipped. The plans drawn up include a multi-storey pool surrounded by water-curtains, large slides, an adventurous water labyrinth and a pond with an island.
The development is budgeted at EUR 12-15 million and is expected to attract many visitors. The thermal water found in Oradea and its region has many beneficial effects, especially for locomotor diseases.
