The 1894 Wine Restaurant in the cellars of the Gundel Palace is a Mecca for wine lovers. The orderly array of wine bottles along the cellar walls are decorative and their delicious contents enhance the atmosphere.
Under these century-old vaulted brick ceilings, guests can taste and enjoy more than a hundred wines from Hungary’s best winemakers and from the Gundel cellars in Tokaj and Eger. Tthe 1894 Wine Restaurant is a must when it comes to “wine-inspired” dinners. Its menu includes dishes that best enhance the enjoyment of the noble drinks.

The Pannon Wine Festival was held for the 9th time this year. Professionals in the wine trade from abroad were invited to the competition to assess with the help of Hungarian wine tasters the more than 300 wines submitted. Hungary’s top wines were announced at the end of the competition.
